好きな曲はその人の青春ということ

 だれしも一番心に残る歌は、その人の青春時代であるということ。

たとえば私たちよりも年上の人たちが歌う歌は演歌とか、それよりも古い人はいまだに浪曲、浪花節などが多いいうことに気が付いたのです。私にしてみると、それらはずいぶん古いもので、はやらない、あるいは今の時代にはあわないなぁ 、などと当然のように思ってしまいます。しかし、よく考えてみると、その人にとっては青春のときの歌であり、それを歌うときにはやはりその人にとっては、何年過ぎても青春の歌で、いまだに新曲であり新しいものである、ということに気が付いたのです。その歌を聴くとき、そのときの思い出がまざまざとよみがえってきます。不思議ですね。

そのことはいかに青年のときの感受性が豊かであるかということをあらわしているとおもいます。まさに、ゴンドラの歌のように、青年の時を大切にしたいですね。そして、大人はそのことを十分に理解して青年とつきあっていかなくてはいけない。そうすれば、世代の断絶現象も少しはよくなりますか 。

To dream the impassible dream.  To fight the unbeatable foe.  To bear with unbearable sorrow.  To run where the brave dare not go.

To right the unrightable wrong.  To love pure and chaste from a far.  To try when your arms are too weary.  To reach the unreachable stars!

This is my quest to follow that star.  No matter how hopeless, no matter how far to fight for the right without question or pause.  To be willing to march into hell for a heavenly cause!

And I know if I'll only be true to this glorious quest that my heart will lie peaceful and calm when I'm laid to my rest.

And the world will be better for this.  That one man scorned and covered with scars.  Still strove with his last ounce of courage to reach the unreachable stars.
